Shades & Co Studios is a welcoming creative studio in Canning Vale, Perth, founded by contemporary artist and educator Shannan Nicole and creative collaborator Lisa-Kerri Jenness, known as LK@Shades.

Together, Shannan@Shades and LK@Shades have created a space where people can slow down, explore their creativity and make something genuinely their own. Their workshops are designed for complete beginners through to experienced creatives, combining professional guidance, quality materials and a relaxed, supportive studio atmosphere.

Shannan Nicole is a Perth contemporary artist, art teacher and owner of Shades & Co Studios. Her artistic practice spans expressive abstract oil painting, atmospheric seascapes, equine art, pet portraits, pastel work and resin art. Inspired by movement, light, emotion and the raw beauty of the Australian coastline and landscape, Shannan creates layered artworks rich in colour, texture and feeling.

With a background in Visual Arts at Edith Cowan University and more than two decades of professional experience, Shannan returned to art full-time in 2016 to establish Shannan Nicole Artist as her studio practice. She is passionate about helping others find confidence in their own creative voice through approachable, hands-on teaching.

Lisa-Kerri Jenness, LK@Shades, brings a distinctive creative background in fashion design, goldsmithing and bold geometric abstract art. Her love of colour, form and large-scale resin artwork brings another energetic dimension to the studio. LK is a workshop facilitator and creative collaborator whose style encourages experimentation, individuality and joyful making.

At Shades & Co Studios, Shannan@Shades and LK@Shades host resin art workshops, resin cheeseboard classes, abstract oil painting, pastel painting, alcohol ink, pyrography, candle making and private creative experiences. The studio also offers memorable occasions for friends’ gatherings, birthdays, hens parties, team-building and corporate events.

Shannan is also co-founder of Shades Resin Co, a Western Australian artist resin and pigment brand developed from real studio experience and a commitment to professional-quality creative materials. As the home of Shades Resin Co, the studio gives participants the opportunity to learn with products selected and developed by artists, for artists and makers.

Shades & Co Studios is more than a workshop space—it is a creative community where people are encouraged to explore, connect and leave with both a handmade piece and the confidence to keep creating.
